Feature in Focus: Data Find and Reserve

Do you need to reduce your data provisioning time, but also ensure testers, developers but also automation frameworks are not delayed through out-of-date or mismatched data?

Coverage Profiles can be Exposed to Share with other Models in the Same Project

Coverage profiles are a great way to express where and how to focus test generation within Models created in Test Modeller.

The ability to share coverage profiles means any model within the same project can utilise the coverage profile configuration. This is a time saving feature, allows repeatable test generation through user specified coverage criteria.

Record and Export API Requests into Test Automation

Test Modeller now features the ability for users to record and capture user journeys for a web-front end. As part of this capability, Test Modeller records the request and responses of any API calls made during the user journey. The API calls can then be converted into automation, which can be parametrised and overlaid on models.

Publish Test Suite after Execution Completes

Test Modeller can publish test cases to a test suite which can then be manually triggered inside the portal, by a CI/CD pipeline, or executed on a schedule. Previously, to publish a test suite, the user had to regenerate the underlying suite. Now, after automation is created, the user can publish the test cases directly into a test suite.

Regenerate Flag on Automation Module Collection

Automation module collections contain a user-controlled flag which can disable any regeneration of code and editing of the underlying module collection. This is useful if a user imports a module from external code where it is not desirable for the code to be modified in Test Modeller, or for built-in automation actions.

Radial Diagrams for Database Definitions

Radial diagrams allow users to examine scanned data structures and identify / explore the relationships between tables. These views are particularly useful for paying off technical debt and building a strategy for test data.

Spot Diagrams for Complex Data Lists

Spot diagrams attached to data lists allow users who have created / imported lists to analysis and understand the data they currently have. This is particularly useful for identifying areas of under-testing, and over testing. As well as uncovering gaps in test data, which can then be used to enrich test data through data creation.

Read Only / Viewer Mode

Read-only mode is perfect for users who do not need editing capabilities inside Test Modeller. This mode presents the features of Test Modeller in a read-only and therefore non-editable mode.

QTest Export to Test Suites and Synchronise Run Results

Test Modeller now features the ability to synchronise run results to QTest for any tests which have been linked or exported to QTest. This allows greater visibility and out-the-box integration of automated test case run results to QTest.
